Khuà-Tôo, named after the Taiwanese phrase for ""viewing images,"" explores the intersection of cinema and comics. Initiated by LA VIE CINE Studio, the debut issue, ""Journey,"" features three bilingual short stories blending suspense, romance, and sci-fi. By adapting film scripts into comics, the collection offers unique perspectives on Taiwan’s history, literature, and nuclear energy.

Beyond the core stories, this issue includes exclusive creator interviews and concept sketches. Khuà-Tôo pioneers new pathways for cross-media translation, providing readers with an immersive cultural experience that bridges the gap between the silver screen and the illustrated page.

Asteroid Z / anpin / NK / WeiFan Wang / Stefanie Chen / Greamo

This issue features a diverse collective of cross-disciplinary talent: Asteroid Z, a filmmaker and novelist; anpin, a renowned illustrator and Japanese translator; and NK, an experienced story developer. Joining them are WeiFan Wang, an award-winning animation director; Stefanie Chen, a screenwriter specializing in social realism and youth; and comics artist Greamo.

Spanning expertise in cinema, literature, and visual arts, these creators bridge the gap between script and panel. Their collaboration explores Taiwan’s cultural landscape through varied lenses, blending professional screenwriting precision with the imaginative freedom of comic illustration to redefine modern storytelling across different media platforms.
