Drawing on the Ministry of Education’s Taiwanese Southern Min dictionary, the author compiles a rich collection of Taiwanese folk expressions, including proverbs and slang, shaped by extensive life experience. Each entry is presented in a clear, itemized format and accompanied by distinctive commentary that reflects the author’s unique perspective. Beyond the entries themselves, explanations and narrative descriptions are written in standard Mandarin, ensuring accessibility for readers who are not familiar with Taiwanese. Through this structure, the work preserves the cultural flavor of local language while making it approachable to a broader audience.
